This is a best World Cup XI. The XI consists of one player from each of the top footballing nations, namely competition winners (Brazil-5 times, Italy-4 times, Germany-4 times, Argentina- 2 times, Uruguay- 2 times, England- once, France- once and Spain-once) and runners-up (Hungary in 1954 and Holland in 1974, 1978 and 2010). The team is organised according to modern football tactics with two defensive midfielders. All of the players (except Lev Yashin) have been named in the World Cup All Star Team at different tournaments. The team features 4 best player/Golden Ball winners (Ferenc Puskas, Pele, Johan Cruyff and Lionel Messi) and three second best player/silver ball winners (Pele, Bobby Moore and Franz Beckenbauer).
