- On the paper is 433, can switch to 352 - GK I chose Benitez because his playing time at club is much more important than Romero and Gazzaniga. His performance more consistent than Rulli and Armani. - Mussachio is preferred to Pezzella because his recent performance with Milan is good unlike Pezzella with Fiorentina. I also like Barboza. They are preferred to Foyth because they are taller. I can see Foyth as a future replacement of Otamendi. - Lisandro Martinez is preferred to Tagliafico for the LWB despite more experience from the Ajax player because Martinez is stronger defensively and also better passing skill. He is also more versatile, can play as CB. - Saravia and Paredes are the best in their position, no much debate. - I need someone who can play as box to box and can also take the winger role. The player should be able to carry the ball and help defending a lot. Zaracho is perfect for that. Palaccios could also be fit for this role. - Lo Celso need to play in a more advanced position in a midfield of 3, this system is the only one that fits him. If we play 442 or 343, we will need to sacrifice him and it'll be a shame to bypass a player like him. In addition to his creativity and short dribble, he has also strong defensive contribution. - On the left, I like Vargas. There are lots of great players for this role like Di Maria, Pity Martinez, Cervi, De Paul and Pereyra. Each one is good on something but I need someone who can be winger and playmaker, who can dribble with good crossing. He is younger than Di Maria so better if we want to prepare the future. More creative than Cervi, Pereyra and De Paul. Besides Pity is going to join MLS and we don't know if he can keep his level there. The upside that Vargas has over Pity and Di Maria is his capacity to cut in from the left which the 2 cannot do given that they are a left foot player. - I don't like Icardi initially. His contribution to the team is quite limited. I'd prefer either false 9 like Aguero, Lautaro and Dybala or strong forward like Gaich. But when you have crossing from a player like Vargas, it's a waste if you don't put someone like Icardi in the box. Also false 9 is too similar to what Messi doing(half-9, half-winger, half-playmaker). I don't believe in partnership Kun-Messi which has been failed for years. Besides, Gaich is a bit green. So that's why I prefer Icardi but I still hesitate between him and Benedetto, I know the Boca forward is a better player. - There is choice between playing a left winger/playmaker + 1 striker and a left forward(Joaquin Correa) + false 9(Dybala, Aguero, Lautaro). It's really subjective. I try to bring something different. - We can switch to 352 as Lisandro Martinez can play as CB. - If you take position by position, it may not be the best player on each position like for example the forward position. My choice is also based on compatibility between players. For example Messi need a hardworking right side player closed to him. That's why I choose Zaracho. - This tactics fixed the problem that we don't have a good defensive midfielder yet. Ascacibar is too inconsistent. Nico Dominguez has high potential and could be a top player in few years. But still a bit green now.
