3 back = the three centre backs keep compact when out of possession so the wingers can act as full backs. When in possession they get wide and keep their width , help find passes for teammates. CDM = always in a deep position when defending and attacking last line of attack. When in possession , he should be on the centre circle in our half , this creates another deep option to restart or play a long ball in behind because going back will make the last line of defence come up higher. ( main role ) 2 CM = They both get forward if its in the left corner or wing the LCM goes and becomes a deep option while the RCM stays on the edge of the box as a option , he will drop off as option for the LCM. ( same vies verse ) LW and RW = They push forward into the corners for hold up plays , these 2 will come compact to the CM as it will not let anyone through our 2nd of 4 lines of defence. ( Making long ball and short ball runs are crucial movement ) LCF and RCF = One of the strikers are playing a bit of false 9 and get in behind defence as the other is just looking for through balls and long ball hold up plays with the wingers.
