the M & M: 3 men at the back can be exploited but by putting two defensive midfielders in front of them they can help provide cover while breaking up plays in the midfield while providing the ability to transition the ball on the counter and set up searching passes and support on offense. Playing the three higher attacking midfielders and two strikers adds to attacking potential, but leaves space down the flanks of the pitch for the opposition on the counter attack.
