What I would think would be the ultimate Van Gaal formation. Carrick/Schneiderlin Boateng Verratti Vidal Pogba Varane players who would fit in to the LVG philosophy and strategy. The midfield dominance is clear. Plan is the outnumber the midfield with 8 players. Depay, Di Maria, Rojo, and Boateng will join in the midfield and help out an already overloaded PVVC. Varane will act as a modern day sweeper. Distributing from the back but also being the last man. In the event of a break from the opponent, the back three and Carrick will be the first to counter the counter-attack. Joined in by the rest ofthe midfield. I wanna see this happening tbh. I wanna see a crazy United team like this. But ofcourse, it's never gonna happen
