France take on the Republic of Ireland in the fourth of eight second round matches at EURO 2016. Ireland secured progression as one of the four best 3rd place teams by beating Italy with a late strike from Robbie Brady on Wednesday. The hosts will be expected to win to set up a quarter-final tie with England or Iceland, and as a result have returned to their strongest eleven. N'Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud return, along with Dimitri Payet and Blaise Matuidi, while Ireland keep the same team from that famous win in Group E. The pace of Shane Long, James McClean and Brady could cause problems for an aging back four, but the exciting attack including Payet and Pogba should see the French through. I predict a 2-0 French victory, with Payet and Antoine Griezmann finding the net either side of half-time.
