Application of Marcelo Bielsa's 3-3-3-1 formation that he used so effectively with Chile, Newell's and Athletic Bilbao. The system employs one sweeper to anchor the team and to clear up loose balls played behind the team. He also has an offensive role in starting attacks and looking for long balls to forward players. In front of the sweeper are the two stoppers who will provide the solidity in the backline making tackles and clearances without any requirement for attacking impetus.
