* Two solid centre backs, who are good on the ball * Two full backs who can progress upfield, and are comfortable doing so * A deep lying midfielder competent in moving the ball and disciplined * A diligent right central midfielder who frees up Suso, Milan's most reliable creator. Also has the legs to push up or press, but usually holds deeper than Bonaventura. * Bonaventura and Calhanoglu creating a creative axis, alongside Rodriguez, on the left hand side. Two interchangeable creators who can read each other's movements, aided by a willing runner from left back. (Not dissimilar in theory to Sarri's Napoli). * Suso can simply be Suso. Cut inside with Calbria running from the outside, and be the star of the show. * A capable hold up number 9, but also one mobile enough to press and work the channels. Not the star of the show. Silva could easily perform the same role as Kalinic.
