A 0-0 draw against fierce rivals Guernsey Kiwis gave the trophy to Rhystic United after another penalty shootout. Just two seasons after their latest cup success, Rhystic United had moved back from 4-3-3 to a narrow 4-4-2 shape employing a high defensive line and playing an aggressive offside trap. When in possession, the team was instructed to get the ball upfront as quickly as possible, feeding high balls to target man Zétény Veszpremi or through balls into space to clinical Spanish forward Nicolas Pascual. In midfield, natural attacking playmaker Logan Lee offered quality on the right flank, while homegrown Angelo Sanchez was more of an ordinary wingback. Pacey, hard-working centerbacks were instrumental in keeping the defensive line up and compressing the space.
