After suffering through odds-on fierce rivals Guernsey Kiwis' pressure, Rhystic United lifted the trophy after dragging a scoreless game to a penalty shootout. This side relied upon defensive solidity in playing a direct, narrow style of play trying to involve the two goalscoring wingers Dariusz Rogge and Mohamed Pieters with sudden, lethal breaks through the middle. Homegrown, top flight playmaker Carlos Sousa was switched to a deeper role after the signing of the energetic Terje Martinsen and the young ball-winning midfielder Boye Ueland coming through the Academy ranks to first team football. The two Norwegians played an essential part in guaranteeing midfield shape and protection to the defensive package. With Connor Harris ageing, Romanian defensive commander Sebastian Popa was signed for his power and techincal proficiency, while upfront striker Ethan Robinson offered an unusual set of skills in a defensive forward role.
