A legendary team for Rhystic United, winning the first Double in the history of the club thanks to a 5-3 penalty shootout win against Murray Mints FC after a goalless draw in regular time. This team was built around a nearly airtight defence, and preferred playing quick counters on the wings with a deep defensive line; left midfielder Samuel Markovics was more of a wide playmaker, Academy-product Kabeya Grandhenry was a truly devastating out-and-out winger, providing pace and flair on the opposite side. The signings of defensive commander Daniel Wring and box-to-box midfielder Dirk Herbert, who took the midfield spot regularly over an aging Carlos Sousa, helped greatly in offering quality in key areas. The striker partnership was a bit unusual for a classic 4-4-2 whereas Bulgarian small forward Krasimir Iliev was ofter preferred in the starting lineup over target man Zétény Veszpremi as complementary to star striker Paulo Maravilha, a Brasilian poacher with unrivaled pace who thrived in a 2-men partnership system.
