1. We will defend as ONE whole unit. Center backs need to communicate with the rest of the team instructing them where they need to shift on defense and when to press. The team needs to be compact and organized. 2. Once we win the ball, we need to go FAST. Look to get the ball wide, play quick 1,2s (wall passes), connect triangles. RCM will look to keep the ball moving forward. If we can hit a quick long ball over the top of the opposition's defense, we will. 3. There will be two situations in the final third. A. If the ball is out wide, 3 to 4 players need to get in the box for a cross. The cross needs to be early if possible. B. If the ball is in the center, diagonal runs need to be made by our forwards and wide players to force the defense to move. If the shot is open, TAKE IT!
