This is the interesting part. Terry and Cahill are both capable of playing out. We are 3 vs 3 in midfield, but they sit deep. Oscar is higher up, after recieving and potentiall circulating the ball, HAzard sits in between fb and cb. The opposition have a few options, none of which are great. 1. Stand off everyone. This allows Chelsea players to drop deep, have time on the ball, and attempt to create overloads out wide, and hit crosses. This is dangerous with Costa, and late runners such as Fabregas, who can score from cutbacks. Deep crosses from Rodriguez if we buy him would be very dangerous. If good in the air, Fabregas is highly capable of scooped balls in behind or movement to draw holding midfielder towards him, freeing Oscar. 2. PRess Fabregas. Gives opportunity of a dribble past, and a couple of passes to play round original pressing. Would also leave Matic free to dictate play, which he is good at when not pressed. 3. Press both. Oscar can drop deeper to receive ball, opposing DM unlikely to follow him up the pitch. Also leaves room for direct ball to Hazard, which is very dangerous. Potentially also an interesting possibility of front 4 with direct play (esp with Schurrle) Matic as Alsonso hitting accurate long balls, Fabregas as Modric who has to be pressured). Not sure on this, but . . . Azpilicueta can also act as more direct playmaker from Left back, direct balls to Hazard which leaves him 1 v 1. Same as quick switches of play.
