The 3-5-2 which Wolves deploy worked well in stifling Liverpool's flank threats, as both Jonny along the right and Vinagre to the left vastly reduced the attacking mojo from Robertson and Alexander-Arnold respectively. Wolves would withdraw Neves and Dendoncker and bring Saïss and Traoré on, which saw the former of the two take Neves' deep role in the centre of the midfield three, with Jonny slotting into the role left vacant by Dendoncker, seeing Traoré take up his usual position along the right wing.
