This picture is for when you have the ball and is meant to show 2cb’s with a cdm in front. I would like the two cb’s to pass and have a good recovery pace. I don’t just want to say someone like van dijk because we all know how good he is so I would describe the defenders as a mix between Timori and Christensen of Chelsea. They both need further developing but if you think of tomoris pace and Christensen calmness and passing of the ball. Ideally the cdm can pass but must be able to sniff out danger and be the one to get the ball back before the defenders are exposed. The two that come to mind for me is Kante in either of his back to back league winning seasons or Fernandinho in either of his back to back league winning seasons as well. This formation works best with two controlling midfielders who can also surpass a defender and start a quick attack . This adds a bit of dynamism yet a level of control. You could think of these midfielders as kovacic of Chelsea based off this current season 2019/20 and iniesta who I think back to the Barcelona days of where consistently for many years was at a very very very high level so I cannot pick a season. If I picked Kanté as the cdm then what I have said is 100% but if Fernandinho than the team could equally work with someone like wijnaldum instead of Iniesta or kovacic. He is a slightly more box to box midfielder who can pass but not the level of the other two but he would bring the quality of him having defensive qualities as well as attacking ones. You see the more attacking side of him for the Netherlands and his defensive for Liverpool.the full backs need to be quick and just as good as another sides midfielders technically as well as still possessing defensive attributes. On the right you could think of hakimi of b.dortmund,Kimmich of b.munich in the 2017/18 season or TAA of Liverpool now. At lb think of A.Davies of b.munich or Robertson of Liverpool or j.alba of Barca. In the number 10 just think of a classic 10 and they would probably work. The player that comes to my mind is prime mata at Chelsea. He won chelsea player of the season 3 years in a row and was just sublime; José should never had gotten rid of him even though his views were that he didn’t defend enough of which was true but the magic he possessed was there for everyone to see and his career has never been the same since the switch to United. Of course this no 10 also includes de Bruyne even though I wouldn’t think of him as a classic 10, I’d say he is a slight 8/10 hybrid but NOT to the extent of iniesta in fact nowhere near. Onto the striker I would have 1 out and out striker of which could vary quite massively but not in quality. I think of aguero or drogba and both would work even though the one could be a target man and the other is always looking for the ball beyond the defenders. The other striker needs to be more involved with the team play and provide support either side of the pitch whether for either full back or midfielders. Someone that would fit this is Son of spurs as for Spurs he is best on the flank but can also play as the only striker and overall is versatile. This position in my team is one that I think is truly unique but can be most compared to Werner when rb.leipzig were playing spurs in the champions league 2019/20. It is still not the same but most comparatively similar I have seen. Werner could definitely work as this player but I also think of hazard as someone who could really thrive from this position. When I thought of this initially I had concerns as I remember watching hazard playing playing as a makeshift striker for Chelsea for what must have been injury reasons to our striker. I can’t remember what season this was but you could see hazards quality still but it simply just didn’t work. How most of us remember hazard is as the dazzling left winger who would glide past defenders nearly always cutting in from the left and sliding the ball across the floor into the back of the net. He is the best player I have ever seen in the premier league but one thing that was criticised was his lack of goals. It’s not as if he didn’t score goals but just not enough for a player of his quality. In his best statistical season for Chelsea he managed 15 goals (alongside 16 assists) of which is extremely impressive and he was truly world class but again for his quality many would say that he should score more. I agree with this and if he did then I think he could have got to the level of Messi or extremely close to it. Instead he was thought of as the third best in the world probably with hot competition from Neymar but was never really put in the debate alongside Messi or Ronaldo. I think that this system could be very close to perfect for him as it would give him the freedom to perform his art on either side of the pitch asking for the ball to feet or to run on to of which I’m really struggling to explain and so far I think the way I have described his role in this system is quite vague but I just don’t think I have the intense vocabulary to be able to fully explain this and that I can only invision this in my head and hope but realistically you probably can’t imiganine what I am right now. This has intensely focused on the types of players rather than really emphasising the system but I feel that that is something I can only do in person with 11 men on a pitch. I have not mentioned the goalkeeper yet and that is because I’m not entirely sure whether I need a sweeper keeper or not but in my head it is 80% yes but only something I can see in practise rather than theory. The style for this team is heavily possession based and constantly having a midfield overload while every player is looking to play through the lines of the other teams setup or between the individual players if that makes sense. Lots of passing and I think combination play is a massive part of how this team works. But after all that I am not a manager or had any experience coaching but am an aspiring manager even at my young age. To be a manager you need much more than this and as my last sentence suggests I have never put this formation into practise let alone the stockpiles of data you need for an opposing team or actual being able to run successful helpful trading sessions. I haven’t even touched on how this team would work off the ball but maybe I’m that can be for a later date. Also I forgot if I mentioned this but I have tried not to use the out and out best in the world or of all time and instead tried to use players that should be familiar and in recent memories of. Thanks.
