Offensively this formation should give us more firepower, teams will not be able to key on one striker. We will count on our two outside mids to give us width and cross balls into the box. Occasionally the outside back will make offensive runs to provide service into the box OB's should continaully also provide support as well as the HM. Defensively we will have our flat 4 with one holding mid to stop any attacks in the center of the field. The OM's should stop any outside attacks that occur on their side, if the OM gets beat or ball is played behind the OM the OB will slide over to stop the attack and the OM should fall back to the OB position. We must use effective communication from the GK right up through the strikers. As you can see from the diagram whatever player is in possession we should be in a good position to support as triangles should constantly be there. Defensively we want to be compact and offensively we need to spread teams out. When ever we are not in possession we need to pressure the ball to force turnovers to go on the counter attack, the defensive line needs to drop 10 yds or so when we lose possession to prevent any service over the top.
