We will set up like this defensively in a 4-4-2 mid block. They play a 4-2-3-1 and the front 4 are all dangerous. They like to play direct and score a lot of their goals from balls in behind and crosses. STRIKERS: you will not chase them, you will be about 5-10 yards from their 2 centre backs and you will do your best to block them from passing it into their midfielders. When you see they want to play a long pass or ball you will aggressively shut them down, don't let them play a nice ball over the top try and get them to pass along the back. When the ball goes past you, you MUST turn around and be ready to help the midfield. MIDFIELDERS: you will pick up man for man. Leave the attacking midfield player, the field is shit so if they're dumb enough to try and play a pass we can shut them down. Any ball into the midfield we have to be aggressive and not let them turn and play forward. If the ball goes over you or past you, you MUST turn around and be ready to help the midfield. DEFENDERS: Most important is that when we see they are lining up to hit a ball long we drop 5 yards. If their strikers get the ball DO NOT dive in. Left & right backs they cross very well, if the winger gets a ball show him inside, if they want to dribble you make them come towards the middle of the field where it is bumpy then we can smash them. GOALKEEPER: They like to play balls over the top and in behind. You must act like our sweeper, do not stay on the goal line. Be ready to come out and clear the ball. We have to take this risk, do not be afraid.
