The tactics used by Switzerland to win against Slovenia 3-2 on 5 september. The Nati were losing 2:0, brought in Drmic, Stocker and Embolo from the bench and scored 3 goals in the last 15 minutes (Drmic 80, 90+5; Stocker 84) to win and stay second place in the qualification group. They attacked from the sides: Lichtsteiner and Shaqiri on the right and Rodriguez and Stocker on the left. Behrami and Xhaka played defensively for most of the game, but pushed forward after the 70' minute. Embolo and Drmic played centre forward, Embolo retreating to help Xhaka and Behrami in midfield. Shaqiri and Stocker roamed from corner to corner and through the midfield to create plays. The wide backs Lichtsteiner and Rodriguez played up the sides to make crosses, and Behrami, Xhaka, Klose and Schär stayed playing defensively. On corners and free-kicks Klose and Schär joined the attack in the box, Behrami and Xhaka played defence and Rodriguez/Shaqiri took the kicks. First Swiss goal was created from a counter attack on the left: Stocker to Embolo who gave a good back-heel pass behind the defence to Drmic on the run. Second goal was after a corner: Xhaka played to Shaqiri in the right corner, who passed back to Stocker waiting at the top of the Penalty area who placed the ball in the far corner. Third goal was from Schär pressing up: he shot off the defence and Drmic found the rebound with an open net in the 94th minute.
