I am playing 3-4-3 using wingers for attack and defence. I could also revert to a midfield diamond to give the centre backs a little more protection (although those three beasts would be insulted by that) and improve the link up play within the whole team to make passing free flowing between defence and attack. If need be I can also revert to a 4-4-2 formation by substitute Irwin on for Vidic and play him as a right wing-back, move Giggs to the let wing-back position and Ronaldo to the left wing. Cantona will be playing just behind van Nistelrooy. This is the great thing about my selection, it allows great versatility. I won't go into too much details of who's who as most of you will be familiar with them but for the sake of opposition fans I'll make a brief introduction. Defence: In goal the "Great Dane" widely considered as one of the best keepers of the Premier League era. Voted best keeper in the world in 92 and 93, kept 113 clean sheets in his 292 league games for United where he won a flurry of trophies and captained us to the famous treble in 99 where he pulled off some amazing saves. He has also received an MBE for his services to football. What more need be said? In front of him a trio of monsters in Vidic, Bruce and Stam, considered legends of the game and defensive rocks. Vidic was half of the partnership that kept a record 13 clean sheets in a row while Stam in his three years won 6 trophies including the treble in his first season. Bruce is half of partnership considered the best in United's history and was a regular goalscorer for United including 91 season where he famously scored 19 goals. All round great aerial ability and a nightmare for any defence. Midfield: The "class of 92" doesn't need much introduction. I have two legends on the wings in Giggs and Beckham to tear up defences with Scholes in the middle to open them up. Keane is my holding midfield player and he also needs no introduction. They all played together and were part of one of the most successful periods in United's history which included the treble winning years. With Scholes in there the ball is safe until we're ready to charge ahead but not only as he can score screamers from anywhere outside the box. Attack: I have opted to play Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona just behind van Nistelrooy. The former are perfectly positioned to compliment their excellent providing and finishing skills. Both galvanised the team and grafted success in two different United generations while Ruud is the goal machine considered the best finisher in the club's illustrious history with a goal ratio of 0.69 per game. He also holds the record for scoring in 10 consecutive premier league games. The creative magic of Cantona and the pace of Ronaldo will allow for bursting runs and balls in the box to be laid off or played across for Ruud to stick in the back of the net. Free kicks and corner delivieries are also in safe hands with both Ronaldo and Beckham on task.
