The use of this formation will assist United in being able to create more chances and open up the game with the pace of the full backs and the wings. this formation will also give Herera the opportunity to create the goals and also play that free role the he is able to play for United. The use of Memphis up front with Rooney, it will create more scoring chances and Rooney will have a capable partner up front to score the goals. IF we are able to lead the game with in 1st half then we can change back to our normal formation of 4-2-3-1 so that we can bring in the likes of carrick, shwienstiger and falleni into the game, that means memphis will drop to the left wing and then young will come out for falleni, herera drops and then carrick will come on with shwienstiger to replace sherdrein. This will allow us to play the possession yet attacking game with the long balls for Fellani and the pace on the wings, especially on the left, this will allow mata to be more creative on the wing as he has been doing the past few weeks.
