This is my perception of an ideal attacking structure, with the arrows signalizing the movements of the players which are actually chain reactions, ie, if Busquets makes the diagonal move marked on the photo, it's followed by Ramos hugging the touchline and Fabregas moving into the space Bus left empty in order to maintain the sturcture. Constant movement must be used to put defenders in a tough situation and open passing corridors. For example, when Busquets makes the diagonal move, Icardi and Dybala both need to choose whether to follow the movements of Pique and Ramos and block the passing corridors. If they do not do that, Ramos or Pique will recieve the ball and the attack can progress from there. But if they do, that will cut the defensive structure wide open and Isco or Koke ar going to make the run into the space Dybala and Icardi have emptied and recieve a simple diagonal pass to progress to the next phase. The aim is to put defenders in such situations as much as possible, because they'll eventually have to make a wrong decision and the attacking team will progress. In my view of football, space is everything. The whole team needs to work to open one bit of space to progress into the next phase. Even against a well structured defence, movement can do wonders, as long as it is well-organised and the players understand it.
