Ideology: Tactic for games against exceptionally tough opposition. Tactic aims to provide strong defensive protection that enables the defensive units to drop deep, inviting the opposition forward, thus creating space behind them where the front trio will lazily wait for the direct balls in counter. The tactic expects to constantly concede possession but to be impenetrable at the back, using for e.g. FB-s or FB-d instead of attacking ones. The support will come from the outer BWM's if we even have the ball once they get a chance to arrive up field. Mentality = Counter Team Shape = Structured TI's: Go Route One Pass Into Space Run At Defence Exploit The Middle Play Narrower (experiment) Drop Deeper (experiment) Close Down Less (experiment) Stay On Feet (experiment) Use Tighter Marking Higher Tempo Be More Expressive (experiment) PI's: BWMs to get further forward More direct/more risky passing to all appropriate SKd to kick long over defence quickly Ensure all tall players are forward for corners but not freekicks Set Enganche to get further forward and dribble more etc (test SS if necessary)
