Key Battles: 1) Defense: Opponent's fullbacks lack pace compared to our wingers, Coutinho and Robben both cut in and their full backs, specially Luiz (if LB) won’t be able to keep up with Robben. Opponent doesn’t have wingers, so minimal threat on wings. Reus, probably can’t play since Dybala and Isco will start (90s). 2) Midfield: Vieira partnered with man-beast Wanyama - who made more recoveries and won more aerial battles than any other CDM in BPL will be destroyer in chief providing Vieira freedom to bombard forward. Xabi and Rakitic cannot run past Wanyama and Vieira, thus forced to play long balls for strikers. Our CBs and Wanyama are taller and superb headers (specially Hyppia) any aerial battle is 1-sided. Our full backs will provide cover too since there is minimal attacking threat from wings. Essien - busy with Aimar. We dominate midfield on strength, and able to neutralize opponent's playmaking ability from deep. 3) Goalkeeping: Neuer vs Dida. Go past Stam, Hyppia, Wanyama and Vieira, Neuer is in the way. However, sight of Dida would encourage Coutinho and Robben to pepper the goal from distance. Dida spills - Inzaghi kills! 4) Forwards: Henry and Dybala get scarce service from midfield due to defensive workrate of Wanyama and Viera combined with intercepting runs from Juanfran (drilled by Simeone) and Maxwell. Inzaghi will be relatively free since their CB and fullbacks will double up on our wingers. On set pieces we have more height and aerial ability everywhere.
