This tactic is based around a dominance of the midfield, and so a high amount of possession. With attacking full backs and two box-to-box midfielders, we press the opposition quickly and attempt to play a really fast, but patient game. With a sitting deep-lying playmaker pulling the strings, the end product is a high level of possession and lots of goals. The wingers are fast and good at dribbling but hard-working, whilst the striker plays as a 'complete forward', bullying defenders at crosses and through balls. A mix between the current Southampton system and a 2006-style Chelsea, the players are allowed a high level of expression of their play, and encouraged to be as fluid as possible.
